If you think its a cash grab, dont get it. Some of you need to wake up and get your expectations in check. How can anyone be complaining about that? An HD clean up of a classic with improved gameplay, and a brand new open world Zelda. Instead we are getting the best of both worlds. Whats more important to you? A brand new open world console Zelda title, or a complete remake of a 10yr old Zelda title? Lets say Nintendo chose the remake route, then ppl would be bitching about Nintendo wasting time on a 10yr old Zelda game. The fact that Nintendo out sourced this project is more evidence that there's no way they'd be able to handle the two and get Zelda U out this yr, let alone a full blown remake!! It would have cut into the development of Zelda U and most likely we wouldnt get Zelda U this year. Once they understand that TP HD is simply a cleaner, better playing version of the 10yr old original, maybe they'll become more grounded.Ī complete overhaul remake of a 10yr old Gamecube game, especially on the scale of Twilight Princess, would be a massive undertaking. *goes watchez vidz to make sure no onset of 'old-timerz'*Ĭlick to expand.The reason why ppl are bitching is bc they cannot let go of the idea of it looking as good as the Zelda demo from 2011 or the fan remake. Of course, I haven't played the GCN version (owned & unopened), so if what I remember is true, & the Wii U offers the gameplay like the GCN version, then I would LOVE to replay it with the lands being the opposite orientation, the old-school way as "lefty" Link!
Some shots clearly show Link wielding his sword with his LEFT hand, as in the GCN release & most shots show Link holding his sword in his right hand, ala "Skyward Sword", indicating the "Wii" version shown. This is what the Wii U version seems to be based on. (& Hyrule oriented more like it is geographically as "OoT" to boot!)
Only the GCN version allowed you to play traditionally, the way it was originally made with ol' Link being the true southpaw he is. Now I haven't seen any comparisons yet, so.Įither I'm getting 'old-timers' or wasn't the Wii version 'flipped' in terms of Link being made a "righty" to correspond with the Wii Remote being primarily used by righty-handed players? PLUS with the whole of Hyrule being mirrored ? (or was that only "Skyward Sword"?)
